in the service meeting they had a part where they interviewed the secretary of the congregation.. so one question was: "why are the service reports so important?".
our secretary explained that the reports are important, because the elders can see, who is spiritually weak.

List of Branch Offices and Country Offices of Jehovah's Witnesses
by cedars ini'm trying to put together a comprehensive master list of watch tower society branch offices that corresponds roughly with the figure published in the worldwide report.. i feel it would be useful to monitor the number and location of existing branch offices, because i believe the distribution of branch offices worldwide is a good indicator of the society's financial wellbeing.
we now seem to be entering a period of branch office closures, with last year seeing an unprecendented 16% reduction in branch office numbers over the year before.
it will be interesting to see how things develop moving forward, but i'm hoping that by keeping a list of the offices we will be better placed to keep track of the "retreat" if branch office numbers continue to dwindle.. here we go.... .

On October 2, 1914, Jesus took the throne. Shortly thereafter, a war in heaven broke out wherein Satan and his demons were cast from the heavens. Satan then became so enraged that he began to wreak havoc upon the earth. One of the first things he did was to start the Great War (WWI). So WWI must have started a few days after October 2, 1914. For more accurate chronology, you should consult Watchtower Bible & Tract Society publications.

she left with tears in her eyes and never returned.. for the last 50 years denim jeans have been banned at the brooklyn bethel breakfast table.. i understand denim jeans are banned even by tourists visiting beth ell.
billy explained the pants situation in past posts.. so my questions are: what other instances are there of denim bans by watchtower ?

Instrucitons for using the toilet at the convention (pic)
by maninthemiddle inthis was posted in the men's room stall, i hear the instructions in the womens room was more detailed.. this was in addition to having a "bathroom attendant" handing out 1 paper towel per person.. i haven't felt so childish since i was in grade schooll, i had to wonder if all the tall people around me were really grown men and women.. .

To All Congregations
It has been brought to the attention of the Governing Body that some brothers have not been adhering to our instructions regarding the use of toilet tissue during conventions. In light of this situation and after prayerful consideration, we have decided to put in place these instructions for future conventions:
1) A qualified attendant will be positioned at each restroom entrance with an adequate supply of 1-ply toilet tissue which will be handed out depending on the individual need of each brother.
2) Upon entering the restroom, each brother will request only the amount of toilet tissue needed to adequately clean themselves of residual excrement. Any unused toilet tissue should be returned to the qualified attendant upon leaving the restroom.
3) Brothers who have special health situations such as diarrhea should mention this to the attendant who will contact the maintenance desk by radio so that they can make an evaluation of the current toilet tissue supply and act accordingly.
We believe these loving instructions will be beneficial to all as we honor Jehovah's name by being faithful in all things during these momentous last days.
